What is Reflexology?
Reflexology is the practice of rubbing your soul, while you’re rubbing your feet. While applying pressure to the feet using the thumb, finger or the hand, pressure points get stimulate. In reflexology these points are connected to your internal organs. Techniques can be from soft rubs with the use of oil, cream or lotion to hard pressure to clear knots. Reflexology is based on a system of zones and reflex areas that reflect an image of the body on the feet and hands with a premise that such work effects a physical change in the body.
Reflexology is a compression/release technique. If it is done correctly, the reflexology can leave you completed relaxed. It's based on the premise that there are corresponding nerve endings in 10 energy zones of the body, running from the head to the feet. The zones correspond to all of the glands, organs and systems of the body.
Just like acupuncture reflexology normalizes the body's functions. By applying pressure to the right points it helps to break down tension, alleviate stress, anxiety, pain, including headaches and improves nerve function and blood supply throughout the body. With the pressure applied with the reflexology, you are stimulating the healing system. It's a physical and neurological response. Research studies from around the world have proved that reflexology is profoundly effective in either curing or greatly alleviating health problems as diverse as:
- Heart Disease
- Digestive Problems
- Menopausal Problems
- Asthma and more!
